DIY Flower Buckets

DIY Flower Buckets for Weddings or Special Events

Each bucket will contain approximately 40-50 stems, depending on the type of flower and filler foliage. This DIY bucket can fill anywhere from 8-10 mason jars or similar sized vases. One DIY Bucket can produce one bridal bouquet and a few bridesmaid bouquets.  Although we do not do weddings, if you would like advice or help with assembling a bridal bouquet please indicate it in your email.

Buckets will be available from Mid-June to the beginning of October.

Buckets are 75.00 which includes NJ sales tax.

You can bring your own bucket to transfer the flowers into, or use one of ours for a 10.00 returnable deposit. We will provide water and the appropriate flower food.

We can't guarantee a color or type of flower depending on the crop and the weather, but will do our best to match the color palette you are looking for.

The bucket will contain the flowers that are in bloom the week of your event, they will be freshly harvested and hydrated in our flower cooler. The stems will be left as long as possible, for you to be able to cut them to the appropriate size for your event and arrangements.

Buckets should be picked up the day before your event. Flower buckets must be paid for in full prior to pick-up.

Visit the Our Flowers Tab to see what is available each month.

FAQ’s

Q: What type of Flowers will be in the Bucket?

A:  Everything is grown on the farm, and we do not source flowers or filler from other places. Please see the section "Our Flowers" to see what is available to you at the time of your event. Due to weather, unexpected disease, or pests, we are unable to promise a specific type of flower during its season. However, we will do our best to match the color palette you are looking for.

Q: Can I come pick out my flowers?

A: Currently the farm is not open to the public.

Q: How many Buckets do I need for my event?

A: Depending on which vases you will be using, 40-50 stems can theoretically produce 8-10 arrangements in quart sized mason jars. If you are unsure of how many buckets to order, please reach out to us with some details about your event. We will be happy to advise you.

Q: Pick up times

A: Depending on the time of your event you will need to pick up your flowers the day before for a daytime event and the morning of for a evening event. The flowers are kept in the cooler, so we will need to arrange a time for pick up.

Q: What do I bring if I want my own bucket, and how do I transport the flowers?

A: If you want to bring your own bucket, make sure it is not too high, a 5 liter, or 2-3 gallon bucket is best. Please make sure it is very clean and does not have any residue of other solvents or chemicals. We can let you take our floral buckets for $10.00 a bucket the fee is refundable at the return of our bucket to the farm. Please bring the amount of buckets as you purchased. We do not recommend squeezing 2 buckets worth of flowers into one, they will be damaged if crowded.

Flowers should be transported in an air-conditioned vehicle, and if you have other errands to run, do those before pick up. Given the heat in the spring and summer in New Jersey, they will not survive if left in a car or warm garage. Do not place flowers in a closed trunk, or in  an open bed truck. Please bring something to protect your seats, we have a few tricks to help stabilize your buckets. A few options are: Buckle the buckets in with a seatbelt or bungee cord, roll up towels or blankets to create a barrier, or place the buckets on the floor of your back seat. They will not have too much water in them, just several inches to keep the stems hydrated.

Q: What do I do when I get them home or to my event?

A: Please store your flowers in either an air conditioned area, or cool room or basement. Do not put in the flowers in direct sun, or in a windy outdoor space until the time of your event. They do not need to be refrigerated, refrigeration can cause the flowers to brown. The flowers will typically last 4-7 days. Specialty flowers such as Dahlias and Poppies have a shorter vase life.

Q: Can I get more flowers when I pick up my buckets, if I find I need them?

A: In order to get the most out of the flowers, we harvest them the day before, allow them to feed in the cooler with hydration solution and flower food. You can always ask for more flowers. If you are in need of more flowers, please let us know at least 24 hours before your event. This makes it possible for us to harvest the flowers at the best time of day, for the flowers to have adequate care before pick up.
